Ready for Take-off! A great ride for younger children

This young kids favorite is situated in fantasy land, right behind Cinderellas Castle. This airborne carousel type ride is, clearly based on the main character in the old classic Disney flick 'Dumbo'. This ride is very similar to the 'Triceratops Spin' found in the Dinoland U.S.A. section at the Animal Kingdom.

The ride comprises sixteen vehicles which are attached to hydraulic arms attached to the central hub. Each vehicle has its own joystick, .in which the passengers can use to control whether or not the vehicle goes upwards or downwards.

It is actually another ride which can be really popular, meaning that the waiting times can get pretty lengthy. To steer clear of the queues it is advisable to go to this ride when the park opens when it's still somewhat quiet.

Pirates of the Caribbean (Magic Kingdom)

Yo Ho! Yo Ho! It's a Pirates life for me. Among the most popular rides at the Magic Kingdom is found in the appropriately named Adventure Land. It may seem a strange choice for young kids but our daughter who was just 4 when we visited completely enjoyed it.

You board the log flume and head on your way, following a quick encounter with Davey Jones the voyage begins. The ride is dreary and misty at times but thoroughly engrossing. You'll see numerous characters such as Hector Barbosa and of course Captain Jack Sparrow.

Epcot Character Spot (Epcot)

All of the Disney parks have got designated locations in which you can actually meet and greet your most-loved Disney personalities. You're able to say hello, get their autograph and have your picture taken together. This is certainly of course extremely popular with all youngsters and quite a few older people as well.

A tip is to buy your self an autograph book once you arrive at the very first park check out, because you don't know whenever you will meet your very first character. The books are designed in a way that stars sign their autograph, whilst in the opposite page you place their pic.

Quite often you will only have the opportunity to get individual autographs, although well and good, it can involve spending considerable time in queues. In the Future World section of Epcot there is a special Character Spot building that allows you to get five autographs in a singular go and save a considerable amount of time that would usually be spent in a queue.

This character spot pavilion will usually feature the big five stars of Disney, Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck.

The Seas with Nemo & Friends (Epcot)

A wonderful ride for younger children based around the Disney-Pixar film 'Finding Nemo'. As you go into the building you pass some pesky seagulls uttering "Mine", "Mine", "Mine".

When inside, you join the queue in the seashore themed building. This ride may get quite busy as it is quite popular, therefore it is wise to avoid the peak times. We found out early or late in the day were the ideal times, in certain instances if your lucky enough you can actually walk directly on to the ride.

The show contains the songs Poor Unfortunate Soul, Part of Your World and the award winning Under the Sea. It should be noted that it is quite dark during the show and this might scare a handful of the youngsters. Also the part that features Ursula (who is a 12 foot puppet) can be quite scary too.

Fantasmic (Hollywood Studios)

This performance may not be appropriate for some little ones because it features a number of villains and could be a little scary particularly as it takes place in the dark.

Fantasmic is a night time laser beam and light show that takes place near the 'Twighlight Zone Tower of Terror' Disney's Hollywood Studios. It can be easily accessed off the Sunset Boulevard area of the park. It is advisable to show up early because the amphitheatre can fill up quite quickly.

The finale to the "Fantasmic" show
