Chiang Mai Night Bazaar

Every evening at 6pm in the heart of the city of Chiang Mai on the Chang Klan Road the street comes alive with the hustle and bustle of the Night Bazaar. Market Stalls are quickly erected by the vendors that run adjacent to the foot walks on each side of the street.

These stunning soap flower carvings are one of the many products available
at the Night Bazaar in Chiang Mai.
They sell all different types of Thai handicraft and other items that this city is renowned for. There are various indoor shopping arcades with countless stalls, these areas can be accessed directly from the main Night Bazaar route.

There are a whole host of items available at the Night Bazaar which include clothes, saa paper products, silk garments and clothing, soap carvings, lacquer ware, jewellery, woodcraft, lamps, pictures & paintings and so much more. However beware, as there are also many fake items being sold here including designer watches and designer apparel.

The night market is the ideal location to pick up a bargain or two as many of the products on sale here can be purchased quite cheaply. You will notice that the goods never show a price as you are expected to haggle a little with the vendor in order to get the best deal.

However it is worth noting that many of the goods are relatively cheap to start with so don't be too greedy. It is also better to walk the whole market as many of the same products are sold by more than one vendor and you may get a better deal for the same product elsewhere.

Food and drink is always plentiful in Chiang Mai and is readily available from the countless restaurants, cafes, street stalls, pubs and bars. There is a wide choice of cuisine available to suite most tastes including Thai, Asian and Western Dishes.

You can check out the German and English pubs situated in the heart of the Night bazaar. The night bazaar should be on your 'To Do' list if you ever visit Chiang Mai and is a great place to pick up some souvenirs of your holiday.
